Winter Solstice
Winter Solstice
Tonight
the dark whispers
what stillness knows.
This is the night
we lay down the stories
that no longer keep us warm.
This is the night
we stop forcing
and let the light find us.
It may arrive quietly,
like an old friend—
a promise kept.
And tomorrow,
the days will begin to lengthen.
Not enough to notice,
unless you are listening.
So listen.
I dare you.
Get quiet.
Tune into the hush beneath the cold.
Feel the courage it takes
to begin again, unseen.
If you feel tired,
you are in rhythm with the season.
If you feel hopeful,
you are remembering something ancient.
The earth is resting,
gathering its yes.
The sun is already on its way back.
And so are you.

I love this so much
I love this time of year when “the sun is on its way back”. Quietly waiting for this.
